As some teachers may live further away that would be a hindrance to drive to Tuscaloosa each morning, we do offer FREE on-campus housing, completing the camp experience. UA has experienced tremendous growth over the past decade and consequently with that growth, UA has constructed several new dormitories. But these dorms are likely not the ones you remember when you were in college.
The dorms are apartment style with one, two or three bedrooms in each, with a kitchenette, and common bathroom in each apartment. For teachers that may be traveling with a colleague, each person can have their own bedroom within the apartment. For teachers that would be traveling by themselves or prefer an apartment by themselves, this too can be provided.
Though bedding will be provided, past camp attendees have suggested bringing an extra blanket, pillow or small light for the bedroom for the creature comforts of home.
The dorms are also provide free of charge to the attendees if arrangements are made prior to the camp. Please contact Prof. Gregory Thompson (gthompson@eng.ua.edu) if you would like to request a dormitory apartment.
If you require special accommodations, please contact anyone of the UA campus coordinators under the Contact page.
